Grass For My Feet

Grass for my feet by J Vijaytunga is of great interest to people interested in sri lankan village history in particular and Asian history and influence of colonial occupation on customs and way of life. The writer’s literary style is not the most elegant as he uses a lot of long and convoluted sentences. I found the account of village life in the 1930s very fascinating. He touched on a lot of prevailing customs and superstitions and the origins of caste systems. A good read for anybody interested in Asian Village life and at 120 pages, it is not too long.
