Ancient And Tradtitonal Boxes, Caskets and Chests in Sri Lankan Museums explores different type of traditional boxes. In 2008 a study was undertaken on the collections of ‘ Ancient and Traditional Boxes, Caskets and Chests in Sri Lanka Museums ’ and the study of Lime Boxes in these collections was a part of this scholarly exercise. In the national museums’ collections are two gold Lime boxes; one is Kandyan said to be the gift to the Dehigama family by the King Kirti Sri Raja Simha.
